People's Kitchen - Providing Nutritious Food in Subsidize Price to Needy People
Peoples Kitchen is an initiative by No Food Waste (www.nofoodwaste.org) with the objective of providing nutritious meals to needy people at subsidized and affordable price.
Peoples Kitchen is focusing on solving the hunger and malnutrition issues of low income group people by providing good nutritious meal 3 times a day at a subsidized price. So, any needy individual can have sufficient food for a day within a total price of INR 30 that also has high nutritional values.
Initially, People’s Kitchen has created 4 community kitchens in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Salem and Hosur of Tamil Nadu state and will be further expanding to various other locations based on the needy people’s satisfaction and support.

Idli & Sambar

Idli is rich in fiber and sambar has a lot of vegetables. Idli sambar keeps you full for longer and this prevents you from overeating and binging on unhealthy snacks.
Pongal

Pongal is a combination of rice and moong dal which ensures protein-carb balance. Light and easily digestible, pongal is also low in fat and calories.
Kichadi

Khichdi is made up of rice and pulses. Sometimes, people also add vegetables to it. So, all in all it is a balanced diet, providing you with carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and other dietary fiber

Vegetable Biriyani

Plain Biryani rice also known as kuska is a one pot super flavorful dish made with rice, spices, tomatoes, herbs and small amount of yogurt.
Poori

Poori (or puri) is the popular Indian deep-fried, puffy bread made with whole wheat flour. Other ingredients are salt, oil and water.

Making way for a hearty meal is full meals which contains Rice, sambar, kulambu, curry, kootu, poriyal, rice, appalam, pickle.
Our Story of Success
Eat Right Food
Peoples Kitchen is the Food Partner for Eat Right Mela, a district wide awareness mela on food safety & eating right food held at Salem on 16 July 22 and Tiruppur on 7 Aug 22 organised by Food Safety Department.
Peoples Kitchen has prepared and served tasty food to around 6500+ people in the Eat Right Melas.
